My half of an art trade with the delightful :iconbloodyindifferent:. :heart: It was hard to choose a character to draw but I settled on the half-harpy Domenic because he's got a cool design (as do all her characters, actually) but also because he reminds me of a griffin, which I adore.

It's sketchy because I thought it...looked...cool that way. *brick'd*

And I don't really know why he's got his back turned towards us. :x But it was fun to draw his wingspan!

I think this is one of the first times I've drawn an anthro character before.

ohmigawsh - you made him so pretty. ;_; Have I ever told you that you are like a master of color? Because the way you have the sunset and how it complements Domenico's colors is just... perfect. Colors are what I try to focus on the most when I'm drawing, and your art is like... a major inspiration. :3

Also, I'm sorry for being late (okay, a day late, heh) replying. I just got back from a funeral in Missouri, but this has made me feel soooo much better you wouldn't even believe :heart: I'll try to get right on my half, although I've got a feeling that I'll be doing another personal piece before I get back to working on my trades because it'll be therapeutic and yeah.

I am so envious of your skillz. This is so amazing. I like that he has his back to me because it gives it a mysterious quality, like I wonder what he's staring at with his wings out like that. Very coooool!!!

Thank you so much! I kind of envisioned him standing on the edge of some mountain, looking over a field with his wings splayed out...somethin' like that. ;D

This is nicely done, and the coloring good, too. I sure need to color more. The only thing I see that could've been a little better is that the ambient light could be more pronounced on the bottom side of the wings. That's one of the things I really have to try and work on myself, but will add a ton to the finished product. Keep it up, pal! ;]

You're welcome! It's one of those things that you don't usually think of, because you don't usually notice it in everyday life, but once you start looking, light reflects off of nearly everything in one way or another, and it adds a TON to a picture.
